Jewelry Stories from A Distant Shore

Thank you so much for joining me for a new edition of Jewelry Stories!

It has been quite some time since I last cracked open a Karen Kingsbury novel. She writes books so frequently now that I have trouble keeping up with the new ones she writes…and those of all the other authors I love! I started seeing buzz about A Distant Shore pretty quickly after its release with some reviewers saying it was like nothing she had ever written. Turns out, they were right! I found the audio version through my Scribd subscription (grab your first 60 days free on me, if you’re interested!), and listened to it in the car. Wow, wow, wow is all I can say! Definitely one of the best books she’s ever written, and I can’t help but recommend it along with everyone else.

There were just a couple of passages from the story that I couldn’t help but imagine into jewelry. Two pieces have words taken straight from the book, while the last piece represents the beachy/island setting. I hope you enjoy these three new designs inspired by A Distant Shore!

He handed her the daintiest necklace. Etched into the tiny pendant were the words “I will wait for you.”

Jack traced her jaw with his thumb. “I love you with all my life, Eliza.”

Y’all have no idea how much I long to get back into the swing of sharing these posts with you! Packing up our house and moving over the summer really put a kink in my routines. 🙁 But I digress…

I hope you love these three new designs! I have been experimenting more with hand stamping – different shapes, different size stamps – and it is so very addicting! After hearing both of these lines in the audio version, I immediately knew that they would be beautiful to incorporate into jewelry. And oh-my-stars, could you imagine receiving something as meaningful as these from your guy?! My heart would melt!

For the last design – it was not inspired by a line in the book per se, but since the setting takes place near the beaches of Belize, I couldn’t help but include these beachy earrings, too.

If you have read this book, I would love to hear your thoughts! I thought it was one of the best Karen Kingsbury books I’d read in a LONG time. If you haven’t read it, let me invite you to listen to it for free through Scribd. If you’d like to sign up through my referral link, you’ll get your first 60 days free and there are HUNDREDS of Christian fiction books and audiobooks to choose from. My list of saved books to read later gets longer every week.

I am already working on my next Jewelry Stories post which I hope to release next week. If you’d like to get notified of future Jewelry Stories, take a minute to sign up for my email list so you can get notifications when that next post goes live.

Until next time!
