Jewelry Stories from The House on Foster Hill

Hi friends!

Today’s Jewelry Stories features a book that is not the norm in Christian fiction. It’s kinda spooky, creepy-ish…you know what I mean. It was my first foray into this type of genre, and at least from a Christian standpoint, it worked for me! It’s a split-time story, so those of you who love historical fiction will EAT IT UP.

This collection of jewelry is a bit on the smaller side – just three pieces – but they really are a great match with the story and the passages I’ve highlighted below. Take a peek at each one, and I’ll see you at the end of this post for a recap!

Ivy fingered the empty locket that dangled around her own neck. Andrew had given it to her, and one day she would fill it with something precious.

Her hand brushed the small wooden cross that dangled on a pink ribbon from the rearview mirror. It was a remnant of her faith. A bruised faith.

Someday I will see His face and all of this will wash away. What will I leave behind? What will my legacy be? I choose hope.

So, whad’ya think?! Simple, but a perfect match all the way around. 🙂 I never need an excuse to roll out a new locket, so heads up to all you authors out there – keep putting them in your stories! Lockets have such a nostalgic feeling to them. Most of us either have one that we received as a gift or as an heirloom from someone special. Regardless, they give us all warm fuzzies when we wear or receive them as a gift.

The cross design made the most sense to design as a bookmark, although it could easily double as a rearview mirror decoration like Kaine would have used it.

And last but not least, the cuff bracelet was a completely new design experience! If you’ve ever been on Etsy, you’ll know that a lot of artists sell their designs to makers for commercial use. Up to now, that’s how I’ve put together a lot of my pieces if I wanted to include a specific message or verse. I searched high and low for WEEKS for designs that had “choose hope” as the message, and there were ZERO. How odd is that?! Plenty of designs that mention choosing love, life, joy, happiness, etc., but none about hope. And after reading this passage, there was no way I could leave it there without some jewelry to go with it! So, for the first time ever, I made this image 100% from scratch. Considering that I am NOT a graphic designer, it could have turned out much worse!! What do you think? Does it work? 🙂

And I’d also love to know your favorite Jaime Jo Wright book! The House on Foster Hill was her debut novel (holy cow, it was so good), but I’ve heard that some of her newer books are even better. Definitely drop a comment below if you loved one in particular.

Thank you for supporting my little creative endeavor and the authors who bring these amazing stories to life. My hope is that these jewelry and bookmark designs give you a fresh glimpse into those stories and a way to remember them for months and years to come. And if you’ve missed any past Jewelry Stories posts, you can find them all here.

If you aren’t already subscribed to my email list, you’ll want to do that here so you can be the first to see those new designs when they drop. In every email, there’s a list of books that I’m currently working on and designing jewelry for.

Until next time! ♥
