Jewelry Stories from Abigail’s Secret

Today, I’m going to share new designs inspired by Abigail’s Secret, written by Marilyn Turk. Hope you enjoy a peek inside the story and the designs that go along with it. I’ll see you at the end for a recap!
“Did you wave to the boats?”
“I sure did. All the lobster boats honked their horn when they saw me up there. I thought I was pretty special. I’d pretend I was the queen, and everyone below had to obey me.”
“Here’s one that might be more interesting. It’s titled ‘Journal of Shipwrecks in the vicinity of Hope Island Light Station.’”
I keep reading my Bible and repeating the verses that say, “You are not alone. The Lord is with you.” And I know He is, even if it doesn’t feel like it sometimes.
When Abby finished with the bottle openers, she moved on to brass lobster magnets and repeated the steps. Next was a box full of lobster earrings, more than one design.
The quality of the gold jewelry was lovely, and she especially liked the lighthouse pendant with a diamond as the light.
I absolutely love stories that include lighthouses! I have visited a few over the years, but admittedly, would like to visit more. This story had a history that was revealed through the pages of an old journal. That largely inspired the journal bookmark. I couldn’t help but pair that crown charm with blue beads as I wanted it to mimic the ocean/water. The lobster earrings were a huge surprise! I remember reading them in the book and thinking there was no way I would find actual lobsters that could be incorporated into jewelry. Well…turns out, it’s possible! The lighthouse pendant was a given considering the story revolves around a lighthouse. And last but not least, I have been privileged to feature the “I Am With You Always” Bible verse on a couple of different designs now, and the message is so timely.
