Jewelry Stories from A Gilded Lady
Good things come to those who wait, and I am thrilled to finally bring you the last Jewelry Stories from the Hope and Glory Series by Elizabeth Camden!
I went a little out of order with these books, featuring book 1, then 3, then 2 here today. I promise, if you have missed either of the other two sets of jewelry designs, you’ll want to refresh your memory by visiting here to see designs for The Spice King and here for The Prince of Spies designs. I truly never intended to go out of order. . .it just worked out that way.
For today’s designs inspired by A Gilded Lady, you will notice a common theme – they all feature something blue. That also wasn’t planned, but I’ll take a happy accident like it any day. 🙂

She and Ida regularly borrowed each other’s accessories, for they were both shamelessly vain when it came to fashion. Still, if Ida wanted a favor, she ought to ask nicely. “Because the last time I wore them, the Major said they lit up my eyes.” “Then buy your own sapphire earrings.”
She’d managed six days in a row without a single slip and fiddled with her beaded bracelet to soothe the fidgets.
Her face darkened, and he scanned her attire. He obviously disapproved as he looked at her frothy lace jabot and old-fashioned cameo. “It looks like you were pilfering the first lady’s wardrobe again this morning.”
She’s as elegant and pretty as a rose, but she’s got a spine of pure steel. She’s loyal. And patient. She knows how to weather a storm without ever losing a bit of class.

So, whad’ya think?! I confess that blue has always been my favorite color, so when the opportunities kept presenting themselves to design every single piece in this collection in blue. . .well, I couldn’t help myself. 😉
Starting at the top…my word. I LOVE those blue earrings with all their Princess Diana vibes! They definitely seemed to be something that I could envision any lady wearing during the Gilded Era – and I can see why Caroline and Ida both would be addicted to wearing them!
After that, the bracelet was actually the last design that I put together, and the minute I saw the beads at the store, I knew they were perfect. The tiny cameo pendant was part of my current supply stash, and I’ve been waiting for just the right book to match. And last but not least, I think everything in that bookmark came together so beautifully. The “spine of pure steel” prompted me to go with the gray ribbon, and that blue rose charm was unique – just like Caroline.
Ahhh, I feel like letting out a huge sigh of pure happiness because I love these three designs. ♥ As always, I’ve linked each design above so you can view more pictures and see the details more closely.
