His Amish Wife’s Hidden Past Book Review

About the Book

Becoming an Amish wife is her only option…

Englischer Hannah Raber will do anything to protect her children when they are sent into witness protection—even marry her late husband’s brother. Learning to be an Amish wife is a big adjustment, especially since she’s determined to keep an emotional distance. But as her girls bond with Daniel, Hannah can’t help but wonder if strangers from different worlds can turn a convenient marriage into a forever love…

My Thoughts

Amish man – check.
English woman – check.
An unconventional Amish story – check.

This book was a different take on a marriage of convenience story, and I found myself intrigued from the beginning. Hannah would stop at nothing to keep her children safe, even marry the most unlikely of men. Daniel’s sweet bond with her girls was an unexpected surprise, and I found his steadfastness the balm that Hannah needed at this point in her life.

Mindy Steele is a new author for me, and I enjoyed this first opportunity with her books. The only drawback here is that the story is a bit farfetched, but the marriage of convenience trope is one of my favorites. In spite of that, I look forward to reading more by this author in the future!
