Top Ten Tuesday #2 – Super Long Book Titles
Something tells me this should be an interesting topic for this week! 😀
I’ve never particularly thought about whether a book title was long or short – it just is what it is. Most of what I list today will be old novels. I am still so out of the loop with new fiction titles that I wouldn’t even know where to begin! For today, I’m thinking that any title longer than 6 words will do the trick – let’s see what we can find!

- Love Finds You in Last Chance, California by Miralee Ferrell
I honestly could add all the Love Finds You books to this list, but I’d like to have some variety here, ya know? 🙂 This was one of the first (maybe the first) of these unique books that I read, and it was a great introduction.
2. In the Shadow of the Sun King by Golden Keyes Parsons
Isn’t this cover gorgeous?! I remember thinking that the split design was so unique when I read it. There are two other books in the series with covers just as gorgeous as this one, and this one was redesigned to match them. Sadly, I believe the author has passed away. 🙁
3. In a Heartbeat: Sharing the Power of Cheerful Giving by Leigh Anne & Sean Touhy
The Touhy family lives in my home city, and so it was only natural that I read this book. It was also released around the time that The Blind Side came out in theatres, and I definitely wanted to learn more about this family and their willingness to bring a vulnerable young man into their family.
4. Same Kind of Different as Me: A Modern-Day Slave, an International Art Dealer, and the Unlikely Woman Who Bound Them Together by Ron Hall and Denver Moore
Ultra long title here! If you have not read this book, definitely make time to do so. Just wonderful all the way through. It has also been made into a movie, but I have not seen it yet. One day…
5. 25 Days, 26 Ways to Make This Your Best Christmas Ever by Ace Collins
So, apparently I have read this book (but I do not remember!!). It was one of the first books I ever got as a freebie, and it was a short read.
6. Shattered Dreams: My Life as a Polygamist’s Wife by Irene Spencer
I don’t remember exactly when I became fascinated with polygamy. I remember seeing the news stories on tv when Warren Jeffs was arrested for arranging marriages for underage girls. Shortly thereafter, books written by women who had escaped the polygamy lifestyle started hitting the market, and this was maybe the second one I read – it was fantastic!
7. The House that Cleans Itself: Creative Solutions for a Clean and Orderly House in Less Time Than You Can Imagine by Mindy Starns Clark
So I started this once upon a time, but wasn’t able to finish it (maybe because I was trying (and failing) to clean my house. Might need to blow the dust off it and try again…
8. Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World’s Worst Dog by John Grogan
Hilarious and gut-wrenchingly sad. I remember when this movie was released on Christmas Day. I was in charge of making a turkey for our Christmas meal which meant waking up early to get it in the oven. I was trying to finish the book before going to see it in theatres later that day. I will always remember sitting in the kitchen, reading the end, and just ugly crying everywhere. The book covers the entire life of Marley, so the ending is obviously sad. Just way sadder than I was expecting it to be. And what did I do when we went to see the movie? Cried all over again…
9. Hadassah: One Night with the King by Tommy Tenney
Gorgeous book from beginning to end, and this might be one of the few instances where I can say the book is as good as the movie!
10. Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy: The Belle of All Things Southern Dishes on Men, Money, and Not Losing Your Midlife Mind by Shelley Rushing Tomlinson
That title alone should make you want to read this one! Shelley is Southern to the core, so this book was super relatable to me.
