There is literally no good way to start a review for this book. The Metropolitan Affair Book Review
My expectations were probably higher than they should have been when I started reading this book. So many of my reader friends have raved over it, and with good reason. But for me, I struggled to make it through the first 2/3rds of the story. There were several moments that could have been tightened up to make it a shorter, more engaging novel. If you’ve read Christian historical romance for any length of time, then you KNOW that Deeanne Gist has long been one of the premier voices for this genre.
