    Double Indemnity Book Review

Finally at the end of this audiobook, and I’m honestly not sure how I feel about it? I REALLY wanted to like it thanks to so many great reviews I’ve seen already. I really wanted to like it even more as it has numerous mentions of life insurance, policy language, and types of coverage that I work with on a daily basis (I totally geeked out over ALL of that). But the closer I got to the end, it just fell so flat. I knew what would inevitably happen to Matt, but it took sooooo long to get there (no spoilers, promise). Elena’s character drove me nuts, but on the…

    The Real Enemy Book Review

A very entertaining story of a big city cop who moves to a small fictional town in East Tennessee and immediately forced to handle a kidnapping case. Only it’s not one kidnapping…it’s seven. Add to this the fact that she and her husband are living a farce of a marriage after his infidelity, and they’re both trying to hold everything together for the sake of their kids. The Real Enemy is a thrilling read from beginning to end! It plods along a few times and the kidnappings almost became monotonous, but there is a point to there being 7 of them. The supporting characters (children, neighbors, Nick at the local…

The Sound of Red Returning Book Review

Except for a little bit of a lull in the middle, I thoroughly enjoyed this story! The main female character cast as a gifted concert pianist was enough to sway me to read it, and I loved the scenes where she was completely in her element performing. A love story snuck its way in about midway through, and it contrasted well against the manhunts and fear lurking around every corner. There were WAY more surprises and twists than I expected which only made it that much interesting the further I read. The ending set itself up nicely for future books in the series. Highly recommend!

    Diagnosis Death Book Review

Medical mysteries are not normally a genre that I gravitate toward, but I picked this book as a random read on my Kindle, and I’m oh-so-glad I did! It took me less than 24 hours to read Diagnosis Death from start to finish because there are suspects galore with a mystery that is begging to be solved. I have long believed that certain books come into our lives at just the right time. The main character, Elena, is experiencing a crisis of faith in this story after the recent death of her husband. While I am thankfully not going through the same thing, I am dealing with a similar faith…

    Sunrise Book Review

OH MY GOODNESS!  Where do I begin?! I was so sure that I wasn’t going to like this book.  It started off as a very s-l-o-w read for me, and I had a time trying to get all the characters straight.  But page by page, the story took shape and once it focused in on Dodge and Echo, I was a goner. I could not get enough!  Oh, how I loved seeing them overcome their struggles with forgiveness.  They both had major issues from their past that held them down and kept them from truly being free to love one another and members in their families.  That message of forgiveness…
