Jewelry Stories from the Canadian West Series
I simply adore Janette Oke’s books! They bring back such fond memories of my teenage years as I used to pore over my library’s shelves for anything new from her that I had not yet read. I couldn’t believe that this series was never there! (You can feel free to join me in the shock.) After all, the original series was written in the 80s, and they had everything else written around that same time. But I digress…
This series has enjoyed a resurgence lately thanks to the Hallmark TV series When Calls the Heart. I admit that I am a diehard fan, and while the show is very different from the books, I love to see how the show creators have been inspired by this series.
I flew through all 6 books. And while I didn’t grab a lot of individual lines from these books like I’ve done with most books since, I still came away with a few designs that were inspired by the series as a whole.
Most of my inspiration came from their life in the Northern Territories which gives people regular access to the Northern Lights (#bucketlist). Not only did they have the Northern Lights, but also lots of opportunities for star gazing. I can only imagine how bright their stars look when not muted by city lights.
I’ve got 3 designs to share today that I hope you’ll enjoy. I hope you can imagine those bright stars amidst a backdrop of those stunning Northern Lights.
I hope you enjoyed these three new jewelry designs – all inspired by my love of Christian fiction, and specifically, the Canadian West Series by Janette Oke. You can click on the links below each picture to get more details on each design.
In case you are new to my blog and what I do here, I read books then create jewelry (sometimes bookmarks) inspired by what I have just read. To get a look at all the jewelry inspired by books that have been made so far, take a peek here. Each listing will give you the suggested book pairing, too, which makes for great gift ideas (books and jewelry are always a winner in my book)!
