Apple and Tassel Frayed Ribbon Beaded Bookmark

A little bit shabby, a little bit inspired by the apple picking season…

This bookmark measures 10″ long and is made from frayed velvet ribbon in a snowy white color.  Each side of the ribbon has been stitched with clear thread to prevent the ribbon from fraying more than it should.  On one end of the ribbon is a single apple shaped bead, and on the other end are two iridescent red glass beads and a tan thread tassel.

This design was inspired by the following passage from Strength in the Storm by Laurel Blount –

“You were used to boys giving you presents.” Emma raised her head and shot him a look. “You used to give me apples yourself, as I remember.”
