Antique Gold Key and Escutcheon Frayed Ribbon Bookmark

A little bit shabby, a little bit inspired by the autumn season…

This bookmark measures 10″ long and is made from frayed velvet ribbon in a gorgeous cranberry color.  Each side of the ribbon has been stitched with clear thread to prevent the ribbon from fraying more than it should.  On one end of the ribbon is a large antique gold key charm, and on the other end is a fancy escutcheon charm with a clear rhinestone at the center.

This design was inspired by the following passage from A Bride in Store by Melissa Jagears

He shoved his keys into the fancy escutcheon and turned the patterned brass doorknob. Should she follow him in? This building wasn’t for her. He was just. . .what were they doing?
