Jewelry Stories from Ashes of Glass

Hi there! So glad you could join me today for a new edition of Jewelry Stories! Today, I’m doing my second feature of an indie book, and it also happens to be a fairytale retelling. 🙂 I’ve always had an affinity for all things princesses and fairytales, so it’s no surprise that I gravitated toward this Cinderella story called Ashes of Glass.

To be honest, I didn’t really enjoy the beginning of this story, but I really wanted to stick it out because I knew it would turn itself around. Turns out I was right, and this sweet Cinderella and Prince Charming tale was just the thing my romantic heart needed.

There were a few different sections that held jewelry inspiration, but I narrowed it down to three. I’ve listed all three designs below along with excerpts from the book. Hope you enjoy today’s Jewelry Stories from Ashes of Glass!

I remove Mother’s locket from where it is hidden beneath a loose floorboard and string the small key onto the delicate chain.

I lift my lids to reveal a simple but delicate, gold bracelet hanging around my wrist. It has three spate strands that twine together and each bears two tiny pearls.

Their thick black hair is covered with bandanas while gold bangles hang from their ears and encircle their wrists.

I hope you enjoyed these 3 brand new designs inspired by Ashes of Glass!

As you can tell from the excerpts, I took some artistic liberties with a couple of these designs. I googled the word “spate” because I wasn’t sure how that was connected to jewelry. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything that shed any light, so I used my imagination for this gold pearl bracelet. It felt very Cinderella-ish to me. <3

For the earrings, I wanted to do something with a slightly different shape than circle hoops for the earrings, but I also wanted something that would add fun and color. I couldn’t help but visualize the gypsies that were in the movie Ever After with their colorful clothes and jewelry.

And including a locket design was a no-brainer as I am so partial to them, it’s not even funny! I am constantly on the lookout for them in different colors, shapes, designs, etc. I apologize in advance that you’ll see them featured here quite frequently. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed today’s Jewelry Stories, and thank you so much for stopping by! As always, each image above is captioned with a link underneath if you are interested in learning more about a particular style. I am always working on new designs for future posts as well!
