Jewelry Stories from When the Day Comes PLUS Sneak Peek from In This Moment!

If you love Outlander or any type of time-travel inspired story, then you simply must read When the Day Comes by Gabrielle Meyer! I have no doubt that it will be among my favorite books read for 2022.

I think I got so caught up in this story that I didn’t really watch for passages that could be transformed into jewelry, but I found a few! Seriously, I was caught up in this story from the very beginning all the way to the end. And if you’re considering reading it for yourself, there is a resolution to the story but also a cliffhanger for book 2 which releases May 2023. It will have you SO ANXIOUS to read the next book!

Aggggghhhhhh!! I could gush all the day long, but will curb my enthusiasm and just encourage you all the more to read it for yourself. I promise – you’ll be glad you did!

For now, here are three new designs inspired by When the Day Comes. <3

Louis and Glen spent twelve to fourteen hours a day wetting the paper, setting type, applying ink, running the press, and then drying the pages after the ink was applied. The room smelled like linen and ink and had all the trappings necessary for running a printing press. . .

Perfume mingled with the smell of alcohol while tiaras, necklaces, and earrings glittered in the light of the chandeliers.

The emerald earrings on the vanity caught my eye. The excess of my life in 1914 mocked my every step in 1774. Not for the first time, I wished there was a way I could leave the twentieth century early.

As always, I’ll finish up this Jewelry Stories post with a little “behind the scenes” on each piece. This time, I think all three pieces really speak for themselves, but I’ll share some inspiration with you.

I love how the process of setting the type was mentioned as each newspaper was printed, which meant that a tiny pair of typewriter initial earrings would be a perfect pairing with this book. Even though newspapers are read less frequently in today’s culture and even less so as something you can physically touch, they were one of the only ways people could get any kind of written news in 1774. And if you’re following Gabrielle on social media, she has also shared pictures from a visit she took to a print shop in Colonial Williamsburg which helped her in crafting this story.

For the chandelier earrings, I wanted something that really represented an actual chandelier. These beauties just sparkle from every angle, mostly because the beads are Swarovski crystal.

And for the emerald earrings, I came across the connectors shortly after I finished the story and knew they and the pearls were a match made in {book} heaven. <3

I truly cannot wait for the next book to be released, and it’s only a few months away! In This Moment will release in May 2023, and here’s a quick blurb to whet your appetite –

Maggie inherited a gift from her time-crossing parents that allows her to live three separate lives in 1861, 1941, and 2001. Each night she goes to sleep in one time period and wakes up in another. Until, that is, she turns twenty-one, when she will have to forfeit two of those lives–and everyone she knows in them–forever.

In 1861, Maggie is the daughter of an influential senator at the outbreak of the Civil War, navigating a capital full of Southern spies and wounded soldiers. In 1941, she is a Navy nurse, grappling with her knowledge of the future when she’s asked to join a hospital ship being sent to Pearl Harbor. And in 2001, she’s a brilliant young medical student, fulfilling her dream of becoming a surgeon, yet unable to use her modern skills in her other paths.

While Maggie has sworn off romance until she makes her final choice, an intriguing man tugs at her heart in each era. The mysterious British gentleman. The prickly, demanding doctor. The charming young congressman. She’s drawn to each man in different ways, only complicating the impossible decision she must make, which looms ever closer.

With so much on the line, how can Maggie choose just one life to keep and the rest to lose?

Mercy – it’s going to be SOOO GOOD! It makes you want to go ahead and pre-order, and Gabrielle has all the deets on that here.

It’s always sad to bring a new collection to a close, but there are so many other stories and designs waiting in the wings!
