Jewelry Stories from The Lady in Residence

Thank you so much for joining me for today’s Jewelry Stories from The Lady in Residence!

I have been a fan of Allison Pittman’s books ever since reading her Sister Wives series (and yes, they’re much better than the tv show that shares the same name). I have yet to find an author that writes quite like she does. Her stories are unique and fresh with deep characters and interesting plots.

I was so excited to see that she was going to be a contributing author for a new series by Barbour about historical landmarks. The Lady in Residence was set in the historic Menger Hotel, and featured a heroine with a luscious jewelry collection. Some of her pieces were outside my capabilities to recreate, but I couldn’t resist making a couple of designs that jumped off the page.

I hope you enjoy today’s Jewelry Stories!

Instinctively, I raised my hand to touch the outline of the key, tied with a ribbon and nestled next to my heart.

It was for this moment that I was thankful for the trim of fur at my collar and the simple but flawless pearls in my ears.

A shorter Jewelry Stories this week, but I no less enjoyed making these two pieces. 🙂 If you are a jewelry fan, I definitely suggest reading The Lady in Residence to drool over everything that Hedda Krause owned and wore.

I originally wanted to do plain pearl drops, but I couldn’t resist pairing them with those cute little gunmetal beads with the clear rhinestones in them. And the ribbon necklace is similar to one I designed for a Jewelry Stories post from Tidewater Bride. I wanted to have one thing that tied both the necklace and earrings together, and the pearls were an easy yet elegant option.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Jewelry Stories, and thank you so much for stopping by! As always, each image above is captioned with a link underneath if you are interested in learning more about a particular style. I am always working on new designs for future posts as well!
